Wal-mart
Wal-Mart is largest retailer in the world. Another is Wal-mart is the corporation that employs the most number of people privately in the world. Wal-Mart is also the world’s largest public corporation in the world revenue considered and the 18th largest all other parameters considered. In general, it is a large public corporation globally but based in the US, and it operates numerous retail and warehouse stores. The Wal-Mart Supercenter is an extremely large store with a size of between 90,000 to 260,000 square feet. The stores offers all the services a discount store offers moving all the way up to those of a conventional supermarket with meat products, dairy products, poultry products, farm produce and even seafood. The Wal-Mart stores feature local bank branches there-in to assist with cash for shoppers and may also have common service establishments such as pharmacies, optical centers, tire and lube, hair and beauty salons and mobile phone shops.
Role in the Community
One of the roles that Wal-Mart plays in my community is that they support good retail jobs. It also helps when it comes to new jobs, fresh sources of tax revenue, revitalized neighborhoods and more affordable shopping options. Wal-Mart is a corporation that offers competitive wages, affordable benefits and the chance to build a career; by doing so it has a great and positive in the communities. At Wal-Mart the average hour full-time store associates earn more than $5 above the federal minimum wage. It also promotes more than 161,000 hourly associates. Wal-Mart in my community have use abandoned buildings and by doing so it has generated tax revenue for the city and county while also serving as a magnet for growth and development in the community. From banks, bookstores, salons, restaurants, florists, and many more small business categories that typically surround Wal-Mart stores.
