Young teenage girls have or do compare their bodies to other girls and wishing they had something they don’t. I have asked girls how they feel about their own bodies, and the results I got were shocking. Girls think that they want something they don’t have and make themselves feel not good enough because they don’t have that on the feature. Young girls think that they need the ‘Perfect Body’ because it would mean they fit and can could be happy. It was interesting how people kept how they feel about themselves a secret. I believe social media is ruining today’s society. Nothing is black and white, social media is neither completely ruining today’s society or making it better. Social media is just a tool, and it depends how we use it. People tell others to commit suicide daily, personal information is stolen, harmful parody web pages are made just for the sake of mocking people. Social media can be destructive, but that is certainly not the only side to the story when it can also be used as a vessel for positivity as people band together to do and create amazing things. Basically, it is not social media itself, but what it allows of human behaviour that is “ruining today’s society”. I know there are good and inspiring stuff that goes on today's social media, but unfortunately the goods are far outweighed. People are posting all kinds of things, inappropriate language, video's and photo's. People use it to bully others (cyber bullying). Identity's are copied and someone pretends to be someone else. All the beautiful people, celebs and show offs can lead to destruction within person. There are also privacy concerns and you could be hacked or tracked through social media and that can lead to serious consequences. People waste so much time and a majority of their lives on it. You never know who you are talking to it could be anyone. People are using slang and text talk which is bad for their English. These are just some of the reasons I find social media is ruining today's
