Social values

Under the direction of respective values, everyone shapes up different value orientations and seeks after what he thinks to be the most valuable. What is social values? There are so many different personal social values, everyone has own though, people from different countries have different ideas about it. For me, my core values are family, self worth, hard working and giving. The origin of these values is I want to become a people who can bring sunshine into others. Education problem is a big problem, I think if poverty is less of problem and people are better educated, there is a good chance that we will see less violence and fewer wars. I went to a program named heart touch, the program provides opportunities for children and youth in United States and China to learn about each country’s culture. Last Friday is my first time to join the program, when I tell the elementary school students about Chinese New year culture, they also let me find out the differences between the east and the west. I think do more social works can help me to increase my ability of communication and professional knowledge, it can also give me more opportunities to realize my self worth. Competence is one of the core values of the national association of social workers. It is necessary to heightened the specialty knowledge level of social workers. Having a happy family is one of my core values, I think each one was a valuable human life and an indispensable member of his or her family. Everyone knows there are a lot of people in the world who really need help. From http://volunteer.ua.edu/, I found that there are some opportunities to help homelessness people to build their houses. I register the activities and I will do my best . Maybe give who need help money can also help them through difficulties, but money alone won’t solve all the problem. Money can not warm people’s heart. Build the relationship with others is one of the core values of the national association of social workers. In human relationship and activity, emotions play a great part. Social workers can actually show how them making a positive difference in the world. Competing values is good because people can share their own ideas of social values with each other. Most of people have different social values, even they have the same value, they may have different definitions. I think share the different social values with others can help people make a real effort to understand the other side of one thing and then improve a relationship. Though people can not have the same values when they as social workers, but that actually didn’t make any difference to the result. Take me for instance. On the heart touch program, one of the volunteer thinks all the people should pay attention to the education of children who will play a very important part in the future of the world, other volunteer join this program just because he likes little kids. As for me, my idea is education is important and doing the social works is fitting my core values, I like to giving, I think giving is an life attitude, it can not only help people who need help, but also make myself satisfied. Whatever the starting point, we all doing the same thing and recognizes value in the social interaction volunteering provides. Hand in hand we stand, all cross the land, we can make this world a better place.
