RFK High School is experiencing a number of problems, although it has only been open for a short period of time. There are a number of issues that need to be addressed, and changes that need to be made, to increase the school’s chances for survival. First, the problem of interpersonal conflicts among the staff is a concern that needed to be addressed immediately. Conflicts exist with housemasters fighting with other housemasters, department heads, faculty, etc. King needs to address these interpersonal conflicts instead of allowing everyone to run the houses the way they see fit. A clear structure should be developed very soon, showing reporting relationships, code of conduct, duties and responsibilities, and expectations of each member of the team.…

One of the biggest issues in this case study is the lack of communication and relationships between the parents, teachers and Anabela. Sandia Elementary School seems to have created a lack of trust among the family because it did not Anabela the attention that she was in desperate need…
The greater the investment of time, the more likely the parent will actually practice the learned skills, and the more likely the child will refrain from criminal acts. By requiring the families that volunteered for the study to physically attend sessions at a facility, SAAF promoted voluntary involvement, which also deters their availability to become involved in juvenile delinquent activities. Then…
I first made the decision to return to school a few months ago because it would benefit my family in the long run, as I intend to return to work when my two infants start kindergarten. Three months after beginning classes, a news report came out about a local two-year-old little boy named Colton, who was missing. There were very graphic photos that circulated over Facebook that documented the abuse the baby was being subjected to. As a mother of a two-year-old little girl and an eight-month-old little boy, it was weeks before I could look at my own children without crying or thinking about Colton. I was faced with putting the facts of the case aside and focusing on my children. As a mother, this was very difficult to do.…
The purpose of this essay is to present a case study that was allocated to me on my second placement setting. I will discuss some of the ethical dilemmas which I have encountered and how I have dealt with them in a professional way. Anti-oppression/discrimination and reflective practice will also be analysed in order to demonstrate how they guided me throughout my work. I will also illustrate how the theories and legislation were incorporated within my practice. Working on this case also gave me the opportunity to work in partnership with other professionals from different fields, such as: Local social workers, Police , court , Youth oddending team and youth worker, health, housing, education, counselling.…
On Wednesday, we met with our literacy group to talk about applying rubrics to writing pieces, those who are available to tutor SRD children, and what each grade needs to order for reading groups. Friday morning at 8:00 A.M. Julie and I went to an accountability meeting. This meeting was with parents and teachers to discuss ACT Aspire and how their students will be assessed. District tests do not tell how a child is doing. The teacher in the classroom has the clearest idea of where he/she…

Ms. Jones mentioned times when the child has been at school and her menstrual started; Shakara’s clothing was soiled because of her cycle and she had to sit in the soiled clothing all day because her mother will not return the school’s calls.…

The student and parent were asked a series of questions about her experience at school and her current living and social situation. I will identify the student in my summary as “Cecelia” and the parent as the mother of the students. Cecelia suffers from partial hearing loss and several limited social skills. Cecelia’s mother stated that her placement in the program was determined by an IQ test that she received as a child. Cecelia was asked how she enjoyed her placement in the special education program in high school. She stated that the teachers and students were very nice. Cecelia mother added that she had been in the special education program for as long as she had been in school due to her hearing loss and inability to effectively socialize with others.…
