There are many restrictions and benefits when working in a hospital setting and it can ultimately have an impact on the social work intervention (Gregorian, 2005).
Firstly, when using Psychotherapy for the treatment of BPD long-term effective therapies that could benefit Megara such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Transference focused therapy and General Psychiatric Management usually takes a significant amount of time, and the hospital may lack the resources (Jacob & Rodriguez-Villa, 2014). Due to this, a social worker has to take a different intervention that could be less as effective, but more flexible to the hospital setting resources and time frame.
The physical hospital setting
