The social worker said things like, “I’m so happy to see that the relationship is rekindled with you two.” She also allowed the clients to self-determine. She was having a discussion with Tyler that involved talking about how often he takes his medication. He indicated that he every now and then misses dosages. The social worker suggested, but also asked the client to think of a few ways that they could come up with to make sure he was taking his medication. She asked, “is that something you’d be interested in doing?” The social worker didn’t want to decide for Tyler without his confirmation on thinking of ways to make sure he was properly taking his medication.
