Trauma according to the DSM 4 it is defined as a person‘s response involves intense fear, horror, and helplessness and extreme stress that over whelms a person capacity to cope. Trauma has many forms of it which can be complex, historic, and psychological, and sanctuary. The effects of Trauma on the body can be physical, emotional, behavioral, relational cognitive and neurobiological and examples of those can be isolation, memory lapse, fight or flight, flashback and difficult sleeping. The statistics that were provided where about two years old but I am positive they have increased since then . In the U.S approximately 1.5 million women and 834,700 men are raped by an intimate partner. Ninety percent of the mental health clients are expose to trauma which is sad. There are three R’s of trauma informed care realizing, recognition ,and respondence.
