impact. College graduates are now much more common resulting in a higher competition. Its this competition that drives the unemployed to work even harder and surmount the norm, making this country one of the most advanced in the world.’ In paragraph 6, Snyder states “The college graduates you know are drowning in student debt, working for minimum wage, or toiling in unpaid internships.” Its these people that make up the 40% that lean towards socialism, because they are unable to find success in this market. However, they fail to understand that changing our economic stability won’t improve our current status; It will make it worse for future years before it starts to improve (if it ever does). Most socialist countries are not as courteous or advanced as other countries because they are limited by their own government. Even though all the citizens get equal pay and are able to live a laid-back lifestyle, they aren’t challenged therefore don’t have the drive to exceed expectations. As we know it here in America, people are known to be greedy and look at the collection of money as a symbol of success. The rich in socialist countries like doctors, lawyers, and businessmen move out of their socialist countries, due to very high tax rates, to capitalist countries with lower tax rates like America. Here, they are inspired to work harder and do better because they get their moneys worth off of their work. In socialist countries there are few innovations and less inventions because of this very reason. The people aren’t motivated to work harder, making their country no special than any other. One of the factors that make America stand out from other countries is the blending of ideas we get from private innovators that exceed the previous inventions.
Even though the American economy is currently at a low, with one of the reasons being our capitalistic economy, its this capitalism that can help us reach back up to our throne. In time, new industries and businesses will open up creating jobs and servicing the community; If the government gets intertwined with this, the decisions made might not be in our favor, preventing many benefits from happening and there would be nothing we could do about it. Hence, in future years, capitalism may be a solution to our current economic problem, however, its not worth the diminution of our chivalrous, because the government would later prevent us from getting back
up.
