Society Hill Towers Organizational Structure
Understanding the structure and culture of a workplace is essential for understanding the organization, and being able to achieve goals. I currently work as the Resident Services Coordinator for Society Hill Towers in Philadelphia, PA. This position places me at the center of the management team, where I play a key role in maintaining effective communication between staff and residents. This role allows me to interact with residents while ensuring that we are meeting the high standards expected in a luxury residential setting. Many of the elements that are present in my current role mirror ones that I have had in the past in higher education institutions. The organizational structure at Society Hill Towers follows a generic hierarchy structure. Each department has it’s own manager who reports directly to the General Manager. The General Manager then reports to the Homeowners Council, which is composed of elected residents. In this structure, I report directly to the General Manager. This structure helps to maintain clear reporting lines, especially when addressing resident concerns and maintaining the building. This framework allows the specialized teams to manage specific areas. The daily work is heavily guided by protocols to ensure that resident expectations are met. Regardless of whether we are handling a resident complaint, processing a lease agreement or coordinating a maintenance request, there is a process in place to guarantee both consistency and accountability. For example, every maintenance request is logged into our online system, assigned and closed out, logging the staff members involved and the timeline. This system ensures that residents receive prompt service, but also holds both residents and staff accountable by documenting
