Statement of the Problem
The main purpose of this study is to determine the level of socio-economic status and the academic performance of Accounting Technology students in the University of Mindanao Tagum Campus.
Specifically, this study seeks to answer the following questions: 1. What is the level of the socio-economic status in terms of: 2.1 Parental education; 2.2 Family income; and 2.3 Parental occupation? 2. What is the level of academic performance of Accounting Technology students? 3. Is there a significant difference in the level of socio-economic status when analyzed according to: 4.4 Year Level; and 4.5 Gender? 4. Is there a significant difference in the level of academic performance of Accounting Technology Students when analyzed according to: 5.6 Year Level; and 5.7 Gender? 5. Is there a significant relationship between the level of socio-economic status and academic performance of students? Hypothesis The following null hypotheses will be tested at 0.05 level of significance: 1. There is no significant difference in the level of socio-economic status when analyzed according to year level and gender. 2. There is no significant difference in the level of academic performance of Accounting Technology students when analyzed according to year level and gender. 3. There is no relationship in the level of socio-economic status and the level of academic performance of Accounting Technology students when analyzed according to year level and gender.
