Take Socrates for example. Socrates was tried for “corrupting the youth” and “refusing to worship the gods of the state and introducing new deities”. They found him guilty and he had to either drink poison or be banished. Why did they do this? Because they were afraid that people would stop believing in their gods if someone was left alive that believed in any other god. Socrates tried to find someone wiser than himself because the Oracle of Delphi had said that there was no man wiser than he. Socrates went to the craftsman because he knew nothing of their art so surely he would learn something. They did know about crafting but they also pretended to know about matters that they either knew little or nothing about. He also tried going to politicians since he knew little of politics. Hitler thought the jews were imperfect with their unnaturally large noses. He also thought that they created communism and since that was a threat to Germany he disliked them more so for that. He thought that only pure blooded Germans and Aryans should have a say in Germany not anyone else. He put everyone that wasn’t pure German into concentration camps and put them to work and once they were no longer needed they were allowed to “take a shower” when in reality the Nazis were about to gas them. This lasted until the end of WWII. In Auschwitz alone 1.1 million jews died not all by the gas chamber but there was still 1.1 million that died one way or
