sun. It was about… 2:30? Maybe 4:00. Soda could never get used to having a sun so fast, even though shes been here for 50 years. Those 450 not spent here?
Homeworld; hiding in dark, cramped places, stealing so she could survive. Soda now just spent her days on earth chilling out, for her days of thievery and hiding had worn her out. Sodalite was awaked from her daydream because of some distant chatter. She rushed out of the water and she quickly shimmied herself up into the nearest tree, attempting to listen to the strangers in the distance. “-And thats why i always flush twice ” said a slightly masculine voice in the distance. A disgusted, high pitched voice soon followed, “remind me Steven, never let me ask you about your strange tendencies ever again.” Whats a steven? Soda thought. Is it some type of earth thing? Soda never really… studied Earth. She just learned some of it from Homeworld, like what trees are, whats a human, how a human can harm you, what the earth would look like after homeworld colonized it, etc. The voices got closer, and soda could start to see what the things in the distance were. Humans. Ugh. Soda squinted to get a better look at the humans, her visor identify who they were. Oh. Oh. They werent humans. They were like her. Gems. branches. The gems were down below her, chatting. Her eyes darted around, trying to see if there were any more gems following them. She counted them; there were four gems under her. Sodalites mind raced. Oh god, what if they're after me?
She thought. What if my terrible deeds have finally caught on to me? Im gonna be shatter- Thats when the crooked branch underneath her cracked. Soda let out a whimper. “Did any of you guys hear that?” the steven asked questionably. “Probably just a bear” the tall, pinkish-red one said calmly. “A bear?!” the tall, thin one and short round purple gems shouted in unison. “What if it hurts us? What if it hurts Steven?!” the thin one shouted back. Again with the steven? Whats up with him? Is he special or something? Soda thought. The branch that soda was on started to crack more. She tried with all her might to not let it fall, she even used her powers to attempt to hold it up; but alas, her trying cut short, and she fell to the ground. Fast. “ACK!” The blue gem shouted, tumbling down the tree. Leafs fell into her mouth, and she was poked by numerous tree branches. She finally tumbled down onto the grass, face planting. Soda whispered a soft ‘“ow,” and attempted to pull herself up. The gems around her gasped with surprize. “I know this looks bad, but let me expla-” she was cut off by several weapons plunged into her face. Soda screeched. “Dont hurt me! I can explain!
I wasnt spying on you, i swear!” soda said, sweat dripping down her forehead. “P-please dont bring me back to homeworld…” she said in a sad voice. The reddish-purple one lowered her weapon, but only a bit. “What do you mean, dont bring you back to homeworld?” she said in a fierce voice. Soda stuttered. “They-” she took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. “They tried to shatter me because im defective.” Soda sputtered out in an uneasy voice. “Defective?” the purple, stumpy one and the steven said in unison. “I-Im blind in…” soda lifted up her bangs, revealing a discoloured eye socket and a pale, slickly blue eye. “...This eye.” She said softly. The gems gasped, and the tale pale one reached for her. “Oh dear…” she said softly. “Are you okay?? Let me know if you want it fixed!! I’ll help you, dont worry!!” the steven bursted out. Soda had never heard of this kind of kindness to her, it brought tears to her eyes. The gems looked awkwardly at the steven; comprehending what he just said.
