Why do we as a society allow the world to lie to us the way it does. We are aware that these types of things go on, and don’t approve of them, but accept them anyway. I believe we accept them because we don’t want to have to take on the responsibility of correcting the lies we have been told. If you know something is wrong, and yet don’t act upon it, that’s moraley wrong. But to seem oblivious to the lies, you can do nothing about it and still have a clear conscience.
The purpose of the worlds lies is to create an image, a story that we are supposed to place ourselves in, a story that improves the image of our lives. We want to believe that the story we are being told is reality. If we bring light to the issues of horse racing, we destroy the image that has been created for us, and we have lost one more escape from reality. We like the setting we are placed in when we go to the races and we like the way we see ourselves there. So we don’t point out the lies that we know are there. We keep our mouths shut and enjoy living in the story that was created for
