Of course there are the basic skills and knowledge that all social workers need for any level, field, or position. A social worker should have empathic and open-minded, advocate for their clients in access to services, understands their boundaries with clients, professional behavior, able to recognize biases, practice with the evidence-based research, and to be ethical at all times are some of those skills.
