The movie was great because how they acted their roles were exceptional. Honestly, the roles given to them are really hard because they will handle all the emotional and physical challenges of their roles. You really need a good actors to be able to act it out, and so they did. It was so moving, since you are able to see hopeless people who as much as possible keep their selves positive and enthusiastic in life. It is directed by Penny Marshall, the film was produced by…
All in all, it was a great movie with great direction and acting. The storyline is great and makes it hard to stop watching. It keeps the audience glued to their seat to see what happens at the end of the movie. And, the ending is so appropriate for the movie. It was great writing and what an action drama should be like. The recommendation for this movie could not be higher. It is a true…
From the centuries, world has witnessed a number of bloody wars, holocausts, carnages and cruel genocide, which shattered the lives of millions of innocent people. After witnessing the mass killings and its aftermath consequences, world has not yet learned a lesson and still on the same path of destruction. ‘Hotel Rwanda’, a movie by Terry George, tries to convey the same message to save the world harmony and to maintain social integrity and peace, else the world should ready to witness a massive destruction. This movie is based on the one of the world’s fastest and atrocious historical genocide in Rwanda in 1994. It depicts the true events around the genocide experienced by a hotel manager Paul Rusesabagina played by famous Hollywood actor…
I think this movie is a classic masterpiece or example of Anti-war. It shows how war takes everything away from you especially your humanity. This movie was banned for about 4-5 years after its release because of its in-depth effect on people due to the war. In this movie we get a young German group (who haven’t even passed out of College yet) who have been recruited in the name of idealism. With much passion and fire their school master, made their blood boil with the desire to go out and fight. Victory, status, medals, doing something for your country ran through the blood in their veins, this is why they decided to enlist.…
Rwanda is a small land-locked nation, about 26,338 square kilometres in size, bordered by Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Tanzania. Though mainly flat, the country has a large mountain range on its northwest coast – the Virunga Mountains – that are home to the famous Rwandan Mountain Gorillas. In 1994, this seemingly insignificant country put itself on the world map, but for all the wrong reasons.…
This project has been eye opening in more ways than one. Previously, I thought that the only genocide with a vast impact was the Holocaust, but now I know better. I am now aware that a genocide can happen anywhere in the world, for a variety of reasons.…

I must say that this film is very traumatizing. There are some images in this film that will be burned and scarred into my mind for as long as I live. I have seen many holocaust films, but no one was as near as dramatic and depicting as Night and Fog. However I did like the theme of this movie. It is very sad but yet realistic. Our minds are murky and dull. We tend to only remember the important situation in our lives. Yet we don't remember the importance of our own history. I say OUR history be cause we all are human beings on this earth. Whether we believe in Allah, Jesus, Jehovah, or whatever higher power, we are all one race, and that the human race. It is very sad to know that human beings were treated and slaughtered just because of an ideology of superiority complex. Al though the Jewish people were massacred I learned that we must always keep a sense of hope in order to assure our own survival. When I saw in the movie the moments where there were journals that read about favorite foods and important dates, my heart was filled with sadness. Not because these victims didn't have this to eat but because of the false illusions that they had to dream in order to stay sane.…
I thought the movie was moving, empowering and touching. One part that was really emotional for me was when the one lady was telling a story about a woman who witnessed her husband being killed and her daughter being rapped. Anyone who can go through that much pain, disaster and hardship is a strong individual. If I were in their place I don’t know how I would be able to go through all of that day in and day out and there never be a hope of it getting better. Those women though they stuck it out and prayed so much that things got better and that just shows how amazing all of them are. This movie is one…
Des Forges, Alison. Leave None to Tell the Story : Genocide in Rwanda. New York:…
Genocide is one of the most tragic events that could ever happen, when a group of people are deliberately killed and tortured, usually just based on ethnicity. Genocide causes sorrow, anger and a loss of hope. Friends and family are often killed in front of their loved ones in a split second, and when are gone, nothing can be done. One of the most famous genocides is the Holocaust, yet many people do not realize that genocides are happening even today. An example of a genocide still happening now is in Sudan, where many Darfuri people are being killed every single day. Although the conflict in Darfur is not recognized as a genocide by Sudan’s government, it is safe to conclude a genocide occurring because innocent Darfuri people are being segregated, killed, and deprived of their basic needs.…
This movie did a very good job of showing diversity in the American landscape. It showed the different ways of life and culture in another country we were at war with. It showed their everyday routines before and after the bombings. It showed how the war had changed their life and what it had done to their community. We got to see how we felt about the war in America and…
One of the last major genocides that has occurred and been recorded within the 21st century is the genocide that occurred in Darfur against the civilian groups of the Fur, Massalit, and Zaghawa (p.515). This genocide was composed by the Government of Sudan and the Janjaweed who targeted the black Africans, with “…between 300,000 and 400,000 people have been killed outright and/or perished as a result of “genocide by attrition (meaning with starvation, dehydration, unattended injuries, and the purposeful withholding of humanitarian aid)” (p. 513). The civilians of Darfur proclaimed that “… ‘African’ —are equally indigenous and equally black” (p. 516). This statement was the onset that allowed for the genocide to occur in the first place.…
I liked how real the movie felt, there was a mood about it that seemed very true to the era. I liked the reactions to Hitler the many different characters had, some were fond of him, others weren’t, but if they made it obvious that they weren’t fans, they wouldn’t have such a happy ending. What I didnt like about the Movie was how insane they made Hitler look from the start, yes, he was a mad man, but he wasn’t always that way. If he had been then who would have followed him. The whole film was also built to be a…
The film was outstanding for me. The portrayal and the flow of the story were good. Jaclyn Smith was very good as Florence Nightingale. And the film really showed the complete detail of Florence Nightingale’s works in the field of…
