2.5 Work-life balance
Most of the employees living in the resort island itself, very less number of employees can meet the family daily or weekly. This has resulted dissatisfaction to job among the employees in Soneva Fushi. Many Maldivians who work in resort may be able to meet their family if they are from the near by islands. There are expatriate employees who can meet their family only on their annual vacation. National employees who are from far distance are also facing similar situation.[16]

2.6 Skill related stress
Employees who join newly are facing lot of stress due to inability to completion of their job. Employees work in IT department, guest relation, food and beverage especially are facing it more, though the other departments

Absenteeism results in increased workload of another employee. They may be called to work on their weekly off or may be asked to do an over time. In any case Soneva has to pay extra wages for such employee who is working instead of an absent employee. Moreover, absent employee would also need to be paid as they are using legitimate leave. Absenteeism increases the administrative cost and pressure of they administrative employee who handles it, usually a department supervisor. This also leads to poor morale of they employee who works for the other. This may leads to poor quality of service provided too as they employee who works long hours might not be able to keep up the quality of service due to tiresome. Issues of employees results in increased stress in the working environment results in employee turnover. Increased employee turnover is an expense to the business every time. Though the organization getting new ideas and better skill with the newly recruited employees, business has to bare recruitment cost, training cost and reduced productivity due to increased employee …show more content…
It also affects the service money given to employees as well. Dissatisfied or reduced morale of employees results in reduction in quality of service, which is they reason for the guests to come to Soneva. If the absenteeism is not controlled on time this can leads to reduced profit and reduced guest in future along with employees getting less wages as well.
