Song Analysis Of Jerry Herman's Hello, Dolly !
Within seconds of WALL-E , we can clearly see a vivid image on how Earth is polluted and destroyed by mankind. Director, Andrew Stanton, utilizes a song called Put on Your Sunday Clothes, by Jerry Herman from 1965. This opening song was from an earlier film called Hello Dolly! , which helps support ¨ the film's nostalgic, sci-fi tone.4 Set in a stylized 1890, Hello, Dolly! depicts the draw of modernization and urbanization, but an additional correlative emerges through the context of the 1960s, when Hello, Dolly! was released: namely, the space race¨ (Herhuth 54). The movie opens to an abandoned, trash-ridden Earth over 800 years in the future. The landscape is piled with garbage and a solitary robot, Wall-E, is all that remains, with only his little cockroach friend for company. He works all day, compacting humanity’s discarded rubbish into cubes while squirreling away the keepsakes he finds interesting and watching old Fred Astaire films. One day, Wall-E discovers a plant growing and transplants it into an old boot to add to his collection.…

During Oakdale High Schools winter concert I performed the song “Mary, Did You Know?” in a small ensemble with Patrick McFarland on trumpet, Zach Kemp on mellophone, and Bryce Krasauskis on trombone. The arrangment we did was Pentatonix’s version of the song. “Mary, Did You Know?” was originally written by Mark Lowery and the music composed by Buddy Green in 1991. The song was then released, sung by Micheal English, on the album Micheal English.…

Money has, is and will continue to be a central part of our lives and play an important role in our daily choices. It essentially defines the existence of human society. Money or the history of money can be illustrated and/or portrayed in many ways; through paintings, drawings, objects like old coins and much more. The image that I have chosen to analyze is a cover drawing for a song that was issued in 1900, in the town of Philadelphia, New York. The song itself was sung by Cogert Gertrude, worded by Daniels Walter and composed by Lilly R.P.…

The breakfast club has one of the most unique and memorable soundtracks of all time. Something that made the movie gave it such a memorable track and the movies “theme song”, "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by the band Simple minds. Something that the movie did that not none to many movies had done at that point. They used this song twice, once at the beginning at once at the end. The two times this song is played in this movie, each function is shown. It shows genre because the movie was release in 1985 and this is around the time new wave music (the song’s genre) became popular. It sets the mood both at the beginning and at the end of the movie. It sets mood at the beginning because of the tempo and rhythm makes…
