chorus, and then translate over to instrumental interlude that leads to the second verse. The interlude of the song is a 3-chord progression that is stretched to 8 bars as we are introduced by a low guitar line, as the verse sections comes to the fore. The last chorus repeats the final 4 bars before it leads to the ending. That causes it to be a 13-bar section that has an instrumental version of the chorus to end the song. When listening to the song there were a lot of instruments used to produce this song. They were: Electric guitar, slide guitar, acoustic guitar, electric piano, synthesizer strings, bass, drums, percussion, handclaps, lead and backing vocals. We can identify the song’s sections by listening to how the percussion and handclaps worked with the drums. The melody of the song is performed by the guitar, electric piano and percussion based on what I could hear. I think the melody was right on sink for that type of song.
My thoughts on this song are mixed. I like how the instruments work well for the lyrics and also how her pitch accuracy is. Also I thought pulse and stylistically were done excellently. I thought the rest of the musicians were quite good too. However, even though the melody was great for the song, I felt it was corny. I probably won’t listen to this song in my free time; it was still a good song in 1990’s.
