Sonography differs significantly from other modalities in the imaging field. Unlike other modalities sonography does not use ionizing radiation. Ultrasound is the science of sound waves that have ultrasonic frequency. Sonography is the use of high frequency ultrasound waves to produce a medical image. A sonographic image can show tissues and organs. The most popular organs that may be viewed in sonography include: the brain, the heart and other vascular objects in the body, breasts, and reproductive organs. Not only that, sonography benefits females greatly in ways other modalities cannot.
