“Sri Mokshagundam Visweswaraiah”, who is the first and pre-eminent engineer of India, recipient of Indian Republic’s highest civil honor “Bharat Ratna” is my role model. Indian government officially celebrates his birthday as “ENGINEER’S DAY” in his remembrance. His achievements have motivated me to become a Civil Engineer from my childhood.
My under graduate and graduate background, and work experience have given me the confidence and desire to continue my formal education. I will present a brief history of my academic and professional background as they relate to my application to the program. After a good performance in High School and Intermediate level with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as majors, I secured an admission to Civil Engineering Undergraduate course at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (Affiliated to JNTU Hyderabad) and carried on to Master’s in civil engineering with a specialization of Geotechnical Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NIT, Warangal).
Inspired by my father an entrepreneur, I followed and chose the same stream. My fascination with gravity-defying, innovative construction led me to my vocation. The world of civil engineering beckoned and I enrolled at VNR VJIET for undergraduate study.
After four years of undergraduate study in Civil Engineering and two years of graduation of Master’s in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering, I feel completely satisfied with my decision to choose engineering as my career option as it has revealed most pragmatic and down-to-earth approach in tackling human problems. My enthusiasm coupled with scope for innovations and opportunities available in the civil engineering has motivated me to opt for higher studies and contribute to the field through meaningful research.
I armed myself with the knowledge of basic geotechnical engineering in “Geotechnical Engineering I” & “II” at the under graduate
