On the morning of September 11,2001 nineteen men hijacked four planes. Only hours later 2,977 innocent people were killed. Have you ever wondered what a criminal mastermind could contribute to a society? I thought about the same thing when I saw Osama bin Laden’s name on the list of people to choose for this project. This is the main reason why I picked Osama bin Laden for my report. I wanted a challenge, not an easy look up in two seconds type of research report. Osama bin Laden actually did contribute a few things to our society, not to give him credit, but he did indeed contribute something. “No man has had a greater impact on American culture in the 21st century than Osama bin Laden.” (One-man show:How Osama bin Laden). This…

“Robin Hood and Little John walking through the forest, laughing back and forth at the what the other'ne has to say... Oo-De-Lally, Oo-de-lally Golly, what a day.” When many Americans hear the name “Robin Hood,” these lyrics from the Disney animated movie come to mind. Howard Pyle, who wrote The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood, which was published in 1883, did not write those words, but he did write an entertaining, adventurous book for not only children, but also for teens and adults. Robin Hood is a hero to the poor, but an annoyance to the rich. The book begins with Robin Hood and his gang, called the Merry Men, in Sherwood Forrest, where they live. Robin is an outlaw and an enemy of the Sheriff of Nottingham because he has killed the king's…

During the late seventeenth century Ireland was a colony ruled under the British empire. Similar to most colonization, this had many negative impacts on the natives of Ireland such as poverty, overpopulation, and unemployment. In the essay “ A Modest Proposal for preventing the children of the poor people from being a burthen to their parents, or the country, and for making them beneficial to the Publick” written by Jonathan Swift, he convinces the readers that newborns at the age of one should be sold into the meat market for consumption of the wealthy. He recognizes the poor treatment received by the English and believes they are the root of Irelands problems; not the lower classes. Rather than delivering his true point of view directly,…

I can recall that it as though it were yesterday similar to each Saturday, enabling my robe to give me exceptional powers and change me into a super legend "“DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA Batman…!” My folks' room was adjoining mine this night; I was in my room watching toons sitting on the edge of my bed when abruptly I heard my shouting like she never had. I kept running into their room into the lobby entrance; I saw this frightening scene has been scratched in my brain from that point onward. I cried in light of the fact that both of my folks were contending such that it really furious my sentiments. My Father's hands were put around my Mother's neck, stifling the life out of her. I remained between them powerless… on the grounds that what he was doing to my mother, I knew it wasn't right, in the wake of standing immovably between them, he at…

For my final project, I chose to learn more about my favorite director, Martin Scorsese. From as far as I can remember, Martin Scorsese's films have always intrigued me like no others have. There are many reasons why I am drawn to his type of films and his style of directing. Martin Scorsese has directed films that support his ethnic background. He has revolutionized the motion picture industry with the films he has directed. Scorsese has a unique approach in directing his films. Lastly, Scorsese's favorite actor to star in his films is Robert DeNiro, who is by far my favorite actor of all time. This topic holds much value to me because movies are an escape from reality that I enjoy. I do not believe many people realize how influential movies and all other media are. We already know that watching a movie is what people do to relax, when they are bored, its something to share with a friend or loved one, or when the movie just plain appeals to you or draws your interest. The main reason why this topic is so important to me is because one of my favorite things to do is just kick back, relax, and watch a great movie.…
