Sotomayor #3 A time when Sonia Sotomayor was determined to give back to her community was when she had to give her speech during her speech competition. She started by talking about the killing of Kiddie Jenaveys and how it took place. After she got off work from her job at a bar late at night around three in the morning, getting home to her apartments in the queens, she parked her car in a nearby parking lot walking through an alley towards her apartment when a stranger appeared in her shadow and frightened her so she ran and he caught up to her and stabbed her in the back as she screamed and cried for help. Several neighbors heard her cries and her struggle as Winston Mosley stabbed her. The windows were shut due to the cold weather, but kiddie kept screaming for help as he stabbed her repeatedly and beat her to shut up and finely raped her. This signifies how she implies how as a community you should be united as one to help out in times like these. This also makes me think that it was probably why she chose the career she did because she has
