South America Research Paper
In South America, there are approximately twelve countries with a population of 371 million people. South America is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. You can see the Brazilian Rain Forest that has rivers that flow towards one of the largest rivers in the world, the Amazon River. Also in South America , the Caribbean Sea is part of the northern coast of South America. The climate there is usually wet and tropical. People along the coastal side grow crops for export. They fought for independence around the late 1820’s. Columbia is located on the northwest side of South America. It is bordered by Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, and Ecuador. The largest cities are Bogota, Medellin, and Cali. The
most famous drug trafficker form Columbia was Pablo Escobar. In the country of Columbia the Andes Mountains go along the west coast of South America and are know as the cordilleras. Also, the Pampas run from the Atlantic coast all the way to the Andes Mountains. The Amazon River has about 2 million square feet of water. It is the second largest river in the world. They have a statue in Columbia that is all gold. This gold is what attracted the Spanish to the country of Columbia.
