Southwest Airlines Promoting Diversity
Southwest Airlines believes that by treating its employees with respect and care, a positive environment will be created and customers will be more satisfied. Southwest Airlines is a leader in promoting diversity, both in hiring diversity candidates and building a sense of inclusion for all. There are many company events that celebrate diversity such as Gay pride week and involvement with Women in Aviation, WIA, and OBAP, the Organization of Black Airline Pilots. Through their involvement with these organizations, Southwest is showing its support for minorities. This is a very effective strategy because it makes employees feel more comfortable at work. Also, by sponsoring these events, they can show the public that everyone is welcome and boost sales. …show more content…

    When discussing airlines, one small but powerful name stands out; Southwest Airlines. This airline positions itself as different for a number of reasons. The most logical is that they are the only short haul, low-fare, high-frequency, point to point carrier in America.
