The people there pretty much consist of three religions Catholic, Christian, and Muslim. In the book called World Book it states, “About 95 percent of the people in Spain are Roman Catholics. Some Muslims, Protestants and Jews also live in Spain.” Spain’s cultural practices may consist of many things such as clothing, education, language, sports, the food that they eat, and what their businesses are. The sports that they play are basketball, watersports, handball, tennis, bull fighting, gymnastics, soccer and lastly golf.
The languages that are spoken in Spain are Spanish, Basque, and Portuguese. Spain’s education is just like our education in America they have primary and secondary schools that provide free public education, the text in World Book states, “Spanish government operates a system of primary and secondary schools that provide free public education.” My family is compared to Spain’s culture because we eat the same food and we also like some of the sports that they like to play in Spain. Spain has a huge fishing industry there most common fish export is shellfish, anchovies, hake, mackerel, octopuses, sardines, squids, and tuna. In the book World Book it states, “Spain ranks as one of Europe’s leading fishing countries. The chief fish and shellfish caught include anchovies, hake, mackerel, octopuses, sardines, squids, and tuna. All in all, Spain’s cultural practices are an interest to me because my father has family there in Spain and my grandmother was born there. Spain is located in Europe its neighboring countries are Portugal, France, and Andorra and the capital of Spain
is Madrid.
