Especially for women. It is acceptable for women to go to a restaurant or bar alone for lunch, but not at night. They have to be careful when making eye contact with men; it may be seen as flirting or showing interest. Spanish men still expect to pay for a woman’s meal, even in a business setting where a woman invites the man to dinner.
Gifts. When someone invites you to their house, a small, wrapped gift should always be brought for the hostess. The gift should be opened immediately after receiving it, with the host still present. If you’re giving flowers as a gift, be aware of the meaning that could be implied by your choice of flowers. An odd number of flowers should be given; however, avoid giving 13 flowers because it is seen as an unlucky number.

The Spanish are known to be flexible on punctuality, meaning it is acceptable to be 30 minutes late for anything but a bullfight. Spaniards are also notorious for standing uncomfortably close and patting you on the shoulder or arm in conversation.
Dining and entertainment. Natives usually eat lunch at 2 pm and dinner at 10 pm. When summoning anyone, such as a waiter, stick your arm out palm down, and wave your finger or entire hand. Spaniards are considered some of the heaviest smokers in the world, and it is not uncommon for one to be smoking inside or around the dinner table.
Corporate culture. When doing business, Spaniards prefer people with personal qualities over ability, competence, or professionalism. When they make a decision, it is on their own. If you attempt to help, it is seen as humiliating. The organizational chart for a company is more social based rather than function. Employees in the fourth level can be more powerful than the people at the top.
