I signed up for mostly honors classes, but I didn’t realize how much work it would take. This was especially true with Spanish class. When it came to Spanish, I thought it should be easy. After getting a few disappointing grades though, I thought about dropping to an easier Spanish class. That felt like defeat, so I stuck with it but continued to receive mediocre grades. They told me they heard it was hard. I was also afraid of taking the class and bombing the AP exam. That would show, after all, that I really wasn’t the student that I wanted to be. But I challenged myself and signed up for the class. I loved the class, and I received a four on the exam. Sure I had to stay up late memorizing 250 word vocabulary lists, but it was well worth it. I proved to myself that if I put in the time I would get the results I was looking for. Those other kids weren’t necessarily smarter than me. They just put in the time. That Spanish class proved to me I could be, or to some extent already was, the student I was hoping to be. I am not exactly sure what my future path is, but my hope for my life is to be truly successful at whatever I choose to do. I am confident that if I set my mind to it, and put in the time, I can become that
