Lights, Camera, Action. Light it up. As the popular Soca song goes, ‘Let me see you light up the Air’. Or Vybz Kartel’s song says ‘Light the Weed’. All focused around the presence of light. We cannot see without light, so in this regard, light illuminates our path. For this reason we ensure that our surroundings are fitted with lightbulbs. We cannot function in school or work or in life if there isn’t some measure of light. I’m here to enlighten you about the choice that you will face when purchasing the means by which you receive artificial light- A lightbulb. I’m also here to show you how this lightbulb (hold up Energy Saving bulb) can save lives and save you some pocket change. Change that you can use to get some Pages lunch instead of a patty, or go to Club Privilege instead of Street Vybz Thursdays.
I believe most of you have already come to hear of the term ‘Climate Change’. If I ask around the room I am sure to hear responses such as ‘melting ice caps’ or ‘the world getting hotter’.
