Uncle Ben is a father figure to Spider-Man. He looks up to Uncle Ben as an inspiration after Peter’s mother and father passes away in a tragic plane accident. During the Great Depression, Uncle Ben has been fired from the electric company after working there for thirty-five years. Having a discussion during lunch break with his wife, he states, “Corporation is downsizing people, and upsizing their profits” (SpiderMan Movie). Many people are losing their jobs, and companies are increasing their prices of their products. The struggle the family is going through makes an impact on Peter’s life. Peter, however, balances out school and work to help out his Aunt and Uncle. While going to school and working, Spider-Man fights a constant battle with the Goblin. Therefore, makes an embarkment in people’s heart knowing that they are not alone.
