Idiopathic scoliosis probably results from a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Studies suggest that the abnormal spinal curvature may be related to hormonal problems, abnormal bone or muscle growth, nervous system abnormalities, or other factors that have not been identified. As a result, Idiopathic Scoliosis is the most common in the history of Scoliosis, Idiopathic meaning that there is no known cause. And even though there are relatively several other types of scoliosis, the cause of the most common form of scoliosis which is Idiopathic remains unknown.
