This is known as sports analysis, a sports analyst provides expert discussion of sports-related topics before, during, or after a sporting event. Sports analysts are frequently former athletes who participated in the sport being analyzed. A sports analyst is different from a the sports broadcaster in that broadcasters provide a running commentary regarding a sporting event while the event is taking place, whereas sports analysts usually provides statics and comments about sporting events which have yet to take place or which have already taken place. …show more content…
With technology in the past 25 years the improvement of computer science and electronic technology has now made it a whole a lot easier for people to analyze a person movement. With this comes the advancement within the medical world such as metabolic analyzers, force plates and an EMG and other technology that has developed to help with a person movement. Causing hundreds of laboratories around the world an now studying and working on movement analysis. Though most of these labs are working on patients with neurological, neuromuscular and orthopedic disorders of locomotion (FIBA ASSIST MAGAZINE,05 2003,PAGE 57) But some labs are constraining only on sports related movement research’s. With sports performance is linked to the motion of a person and their performance. Making movement analysis automatically a part of human performances when it comes to analysis and assessment. In sports, sports scientist are now using movement analysis as not just information but as a tool to correct movement errors, enhance techniques, correct a persons movement errors and help aid with recovering after an injury. When it comes to the use of movement analysis for a basketball player it is used for the athletic performance to focuses on the errors made by the player during a game. Evaluation of a player’s movement is stored in a computer with a database consisting of this particular persons game statics and the person’s activity makes it during a game. With this data available it helps determine and correct the players game. The data taken from this will help you coach the player to help pay closer attention in order to help their technique. For example you can compare the players jump shot to whoevers jump shot they want to have and help the player with their shot. Even though the coach can play a role in fine-tuning shooting technique, keeping track of subtle changes in the movement of a player shot over a certain amount of years you need more then just the coach’s memory and eyes for that. With the new technology and used of modern movement analysis this program can help fine-tune the player so to speak. By helping perfect the players running, shooting, and
