Sports Injuries: Similarities Between Baseball And Soccer
Sports injuries have skyrocketed above national averages in the last 24 years. There are going to be injuries, no matter what sports you play. Two of the most common sports are baseball and soccer. Although these sports differ, the types of injuries are similar. How do we prevent the injuries? How do we treat them?
In baseball, there are mostly upper body injuries, but there are few lower body injuries that could happen. For instance, you could sprain your ankle or knee while running the bases or fielding the ball. The best way to treat a sprain is rest, painkillers, and icing the sprain. Since a sprain is just when you twist or sometimes tear the tissue around the joint it is able to heal on it’s own. You could also break or fracture a bone. It is more common for you to break a bone in your arm, but it is possible to break a bone in your leg. If you do break a bone, it is best to see a doctor so they can cast it. Even if it is a fracture, and it can heal on it’s own without a cast, it is best to see a doctor. Most head injuries happen when colliding with another player, a bat, or a ball. For example, you can get a shin splint in both sports, since in both sports you have to run on a flat surface for a long amount of time. Your best treatment would be to ice your shin, take painkillers, and rest. You can also get some arm injuries in both sports. You can easily dislocate or pull something in your shoulder from throwing in the soccer ball or throwing the ball to another base. Pulls and dislocations are mostly caused by not warming up properly or just not warming up in general. In both sports you have a chance of getting head injuries. Concussions are a big one, you can tell by the symptoms if you have a concussion, but you should still see the doctor. Most injuries are not career ending, but some can be, especially if you are in the major

    Sports Injuries aren’t fun at all, they can make you miss weeks of playing, a season or seasons without playing or in extreme cases you could never play again. So to avoid them there are several ways to prevent getting injured while playing. Some players even take HGH Treatment for Athletic Enhancement in order to prevent injuries. It’s a growth hormone that develops new muscle cells giving you lean muscles that don’t come so quickly, also it increases energy & metabolism, & lastly it makes the time needed for recovery in between workouts shorter. It’s not FDA approved for adults so in order for athletes to get these drugs it must be bought in the black market. To avoid injuries you have to have a good warm up before you can start playing, a warm up that works out our heart & gets it racing, also stretches that are specific to the sport you are about to play, you have to stretch while your moving. If you play sports every day of the week without any type of rest you can count on getting injured while playing. You have to have at least one day or rest everyday of the week or else you’ll overuse your body parts & be more vulnerable to getting hurt. It’s important to have the right gear on, such as pads for all different body parts, a helmet, a cup, mouthpieces, a face guard, or if you wear glasses specific eyewear.
