Spring Days Ahead
Spring Days Ahead

Spring is a magical season for me. I love the sound of birds chirping, the smell of rain in the air, and the vibrant colors of the flowers starting to bloom. It awakens the senses. The winter cold is gone, yet the unbearable heat and humidity of summer in the south has yet to arrive.

I love that daylight savings time puts an end to the long dark evening hours of winter. The phrase "spring forward" is a reminder to set our clocks ahead one hour during spring. Springing forward is what the season is all about and what I look forward to the most. The increased sunlight and ability to spend more time outdoors brings a new outlook on life and lifts my spirits. My husband and I become rejuvenated as we begin to get outdoors more and take pride in renewing our home and yard. Whether it is a small project, such as giving the front door a fresh coat of paint, or starting a garden, we look forward to it with excitement.

Spring has been called "the season of growth" and it is when I start a new vegetable and flower garden each year. There is nothing better than freshly picked vegetables from my garden. The vegetables are free from pesticides and provide a healthy snack for our family. The smell of fresh cut flowers in a pretty vase on my kitchen table reminds me of the small pleasures in life. The beautiful colors of the flower garden help bring color and vibrancy to the world.

Spring is a busy time of the year for my family. Spring brings on a fresh round of taking the children to school, sporting events, and birthday parties. Trying to keep up with two young children can be exhausting. The occasional spring rainstorm provides a welcome relief from all this activity and gives me a badly needed break. There is nothing better than curling up on the couch with a good book, listening to the rain beat upon the roof, and enjoying the feeling of not being rushed to get somewhere.

Spring is my favorite season. New color

For about as long as anyone’s been writing anything, the seasons have stood for the same set of meanings. Maybe it's hard-wired into us that spring has to do with childhood and youth, summer with adulthood and romance and fulfillment and passion, autumn with decline and middle age and tiredness but also harvest, winter with old age and resentment and death. Spring; a time where rebirth of our earth takes place all around the world. It is a time where replication of flowers begin to blossom and trees begin to start their journey of growing up all over again. It is when the Sun lays back and watches our earth transform into a new season of life, where the sounds of bee's buzzing and children playing in the newly grown grass shows the purity of this magnificent season. Although spring is a repeated time of the year we still breathe the fresh air with a smile on our face, but to Kim Addonizio, the author and narrator of the poem "Onset" springtime seems to be of terror in her eyes. "Onset" is a poem that refers to the replications of spring which slowly lead into the identical features of everyday…

Though, March (out of the months March, April and May) had the highest wind speed out of the whole year at 9.1mph. This is also when temperatures start to warm up for the seasons and range about 60°F-77°F. So, the farther into the year we get, it heats up fast! However, it is still chilly in the early mornings and at night with a temperature of about 45°F. Because of these cold temperatures, it does still snow in the spring sometimes with an average snowfall of about 1 inch in March. As far as rain goes, spring usually does not have the most rain, contrary to popular believe, summer does. Spring has an average rainfall of; 3.7inches in March, 2.8inches in April and 4inches in…

Temperatures in spring and fall lie between the extremes of winter and summer, but can fluctuate significantly within a short time span as warm and cold air masses battle for control. This clash of differing air masses causes severe weather, particularly in spring, which is peak tornado season in the state. Spring is also the wettest time of the year and can bring floods, whereas autumn tends to be much drier, often the sunniest and least humid…

Spring reflects a deep communion with the natural world, offering a fresh viewpoint of the commonplace or ordinary things in our world by subverting our expected and accepted views of that object which in turn presents a view that operates from new assumptions. Oliver depicts the natural world as a celebration of wonder and awe, the almost insignificant wonders capturing the true beauty nature beholds.…

Spring is the most beautiful season of the year because the sun gleams its sparkling rays of light on the vibrantly colored blooms of the flowers smiling beneath it. Every day is a joyful and sunny day for the flowers dancing and singing happily in the fresh air outside the window. I peacefully admire their exquisite colors and positive qualities from a distance, wishing that I could be outside soaking in their joyful presence from the sunshine above. All of my day dreaming is over with. The stack of assignments on my desk aren’t magically going to do themselves. For once, I would love to have a joyful presence fill the sadness that darkens the flowers in my school. We never have hardly any joy or laughter to make us happy. Our sun is slowly…

    Daylight Savings

The way I see it, it’s all in the eye of the beholder. I mean, sure it's great to get home and still have sunlight. But at the same time, it's also great to wake up in the morning and see sunlight. Not to mention the hour of sleep being lost as well. John Lowe, the head of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, tells The Los Angeles Times. "I guess it depends on whether you are a morning person or an evening person." Being the evening person I am, I at least know that daylight savings time eventually leads to the fall back, when instead of having an extra hour of daylight, we set our clocks back an hour. When we get to this time of year, our bodies are enabled to gain an extra hour of sleep; it is what makes the dreadful cold weather worth it, and it gives us something to look forward to.…
