Spongebob Square Pants is a very popular cartoon among children.
If you are wanting to surprise you child with a room that is decorated in a Spongebob theme but don't know where to begin. This article will show you the steps in creating your little one's dream bedroom make-over. Step 1 Paint the walls. Pick out a light blue paint color. Make sure that the entire wall is painted. If you are artsy you can add bubbles on the wall. Find a stencil that has different sizes of bubbles. Use a white and light sliver for the effects of the bubbles. If you cannot find a stencil that is to your liking you can free hand the bubbles. Once the bubbles are drawn on the wall, simply paint them. Painting the walls light blue will give the room an "under the sea" feeling. Step 2 Decide on the bedding. Many stores locally have Spongebob bedding. You will be able to find a variety of different themed Spongebob bedding. Step 3 Add "under the sea" decorations. Fishing nets are a wonderful thing you can add. You will be able to find netting that can be mounted in the corner of a wall as well. Shop around for authentic sea decorations. Step 4 Pictures! Buy and color pictures of Spongebob and his friends. You can purchase picture frames at your local dollar store. Hot glue shells and colored gems onto the picture frames. This will add a nice touch of a sea feeling to the room. Step 5 Window coverings! What should we put on the windows? You will be able to find Spongbob curtains at your
local store. Make sure to pick some that are not too busy. If you cannot find any curtains you like check your local fabric store. You can make curtains in a snap by hemming the edges together and leaving enough room for the rod to slide through. To make an even bigger statement add a net across the top of the curtain rod that holds sea decorations. Step 6 If you want to be extremely creative you can paint the ceiling of the room in a cloud theme. Use a lighter blue than what you used on the walls. Draw (in pencil) the shapes of cloud. Paint the clouds with white and light silver. Your child will love lying in his-or-her bed looking up to the sky. You can also purchase those glow in the dark stars. This will add dramatic affect to the room. Step 7 If you can not replace the flooring try to get a few small rugs with the color theme in them. This will add contrast to the room. I would recommend finding rugs in a darker blue color and white color. Doing a room in this design will break up a room that is, nothing but Spongebob. This room will please even the worst critics. You will be adding many different dimensions within the room. Adding the realistic sea decorations will leave open to being able to always find new buys to add within the room. This room is appropriate for all age groups. Happy Decorating!
