Saint Dominic De Guzman
Dominic was born in Caleruega, Spain. He is from a noble family who helps poor and victims of war. As a child he was compassionate to others. Dominic was influenced to do good deeds, to preach and to help the need by his beloved mother and the monks. He was inspired to be a priest when he saw a monk beneath the Benedictine Abbey. At his teenage years, he is in a school in Palencia, Spain to learn about God, Jesus and the Manuscripts. Also he still continued to help the poor even it will cost his clothes, furniture even his beloved manuscripts just to help the needy. Until Father Diego de Acebo invited him to continue his studies in a convent in Osma, Spain and also to fulfill his dreams as a priest. After his studies, he accompanied Father Diego on a mission to secure the Princess in Denmark for Prince Ferdinand. But along their way they encountered Cathars (People who believed there are two Gods, God from the Old Testament and a God from the New Testament). When Dominic and Father Diego stayed an inn in Citeaux, he met a boy named Benito and a Cathar who Dominic encounter and converted to a catholic. After that Father Diego together with Dominic formed an order called “The Way of the Apostle” to spread the word of God and conversion of the Cathars but when they return to their diocese after their journey, Father Diego died because of severe fatigue. Dominic was devastated but he continued Father Diego’s mission and formed a new order also known as “The Order of Preachers” that was approved by Pope Honorius III. Their mission is to spread the word of God, help the people who was devastated in the Midi-France war and also to help the poor and the needy. Dominic journey was difficult because of
