During the 1900 's through 2002, St. Mary 's was operating with occupancy rates that were between the percentage of 76 and 82.

Mary 's has fallen over 57 percent. Even though many hospitals are dealing with the same problems; St. Mary 's was extensively affected by these problems and for the first time had to operate on a deficit. The only thing that has proven to be an outcome has been the need for supplies and equipment. The Boards most recent meeting included Sister Mary Jospehine; she informed the directors dismal finances she had been forecasting and she also predicted the operation deficits of almost four million for the next year, coming up. The financial outcome for the future of the hospital will more than likely remain bleak until they take the needed additional revenue or find a new source of money that they can find and use. In response to this problem, the directors had a recommendation that Josephine needed to lay off at the most ten percent of her staff at the
