Another short term goal would be for Pam to socialize with one person around her age group. Long term goals include working on communication with Pam. Being direct, firm and using questions to communicate with Pam will benefit Pam in the long run. Another goal is to set boundaries and reinforce those boundaries between Pam and her parents.
Theory-Based Interventions
One theory-based intervention I would use would be the Genogram because it gives therapists a view of the family relationships and patterns. It can also help clients with their issues by letting the therapist get to know the family and their dynamics. It could also be used to explain certain behaviors and conditions.
Another theory-based intervention that I would use is Reframing. “Reframing involves examining a situation from a new perspective so that the meaning has changed” (Hadfield, 2000). It allows you to think in a different way in order to address and issue. This will help clients to not only think differently but act differently as
