Standardized Test Benefits

“A June 2006 Public Agenda survey of 1,342 public school students in grades 6-12 found that 71% of students think the number of tests they have is ‘about right.’” Some people support standardized test and some don’t. I believe in standardized test because they cost a low amount of money, most parents, teachers, and administrators approve these tests also. Test don’t cost a lot of money. Since they don’t cost a lot of money the school can use the money for other things like better food, more equipment for the playground and balls so you would be able to play basketball. The test provide a lot of useful information with such little cost. Students K-12 education spending total for the test would be only $5.81 dollars per student. Standardized test provide such useful information with such a little cost. Most teachers and approve standardized test. There
Parents think it’s a good idea because they want to see where you are at on your subjects that way they can help you on whatever subject you struggle in. Parents care for you and want you to have a successful career. You will be able to do this by allowing your school to able standardized test that way your parents can help at home with any struggles. On the other hand people believe standardized test are to stressful for little kids. According to Gregory J Cizek “these test make these smaller children stressed and as a result they end up either vomiting or crying.” Now that maybe true but standardized test are not to stressful for students. The Department of Education stated that “being stressed is normal and expected way of assessing what students have learned.” Some say kids get stressed out others say that it’s normal. I believe in standardized test. Teachers, and parents also believe in standardized test. Standardized test provide such useful information with barely even a cost.
