Standing Up For Research Paper
"Stand up for what you believe in even if it means standing alone". This quote means even if no one else believes in the same thing as you, you still carry on so you can do something about it. The two things I think are key to standing up for what you believe in is so you can make a difference and so people will take you seriously. First thing that is important to take a stand for what you believe in is that you can make a difference. An example of this would be Martin Luther King Jr. He wanted to make a difference by trying to end segregation and make things fair for black people. Because he stood up for what he believed in he ended segregation. Second thing you can achieve by standing up for what you believe in is making people take you

    If someone has convinced themselves they are right, no matter what proof, reason, or evidence you show to them, they are a waste of time to try and change. This lesson is taught to us through Paine’s experience writing his pamphlets. He learned the hard way not to argue with people who had dismissed reason from their argument. The second, character, is much easier kept than recovered; this teaches us that it is easier to try and be strong with what you believe in, rather than to get it back after you have lost it. So, when it’s hard to hold on, remember it’s harder to get back up. The third, is pretty self-explanatory.
