Starships Are Meant to Fly
[Nicki Minaj]
Let's go to the beach, each
Let's go get away
They say, what they gonna say?
Have a drink, clink, found the bud light
Bad b-tches like me, is hard to come by
The patron on, let's go get it on
The zone on, yes, I'm in the zone
Is it two, three? Leave a good tip
I'mma blow off my money and don't give two sh-ts

I'm on the floor, floor
I love to dance
So give me more more, till I can't stand
Get on the floor, floor
Like it's your last chance
If you want more, more
Then here I am

Starships were meant to fly
Hands up, and touch the sky
Can't stop, 'cause we're so high
Let's do this one more time

Starships were meant to fly
Hands up, and touch the sky
Let's do this one last time
Can't stop..

Jump in my hoopty hoopty hoop
I own that
And I ain't paying my rent this month
I owe that
But f-ck who you want, and f-ck who you like
Dance our life, there's no end in sight
Twinkle, twinkle, little star

Now everybody let me hear you say ray ray ray
Now spend all your money 'cause they pay pay pay
And if you're a G, you a G,G,G!
My name is Onika, you can call me Nicki

Get on the floor, floor
Like it's your last chance
If you want more, more
Then here I am

Another time in literature when violence has gotten out of hand was in. Robert Louis Stevenson novel. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is the classic novel by Stevenson that focuses on the dual-personality Dr. Jekyll who has the…

On reading Keep The Aspidistra Flying by George Orwell, I initially thought that Gordon Comstock was not a reflection of George Orwell, rather, he was just an over dramatic and exaggerating anti capitalist. Upon reading further, however, I now believe that George Orwell reflects some of his own views onto Gordon Comstock’s character. Although rather exaggerated, I believe Orwell, having written about social injustices and totalitarianism in previous novels such as 1984, writes by reflecting his views about the mind control of money and escaping imperialism through his characters. Some critics (A) agree with my most recent interpretation however, other critics, I’ll call them Critic B, believe that Orwell writes Gordon Comstock not as a reflection of views on consumerism and the mind control that money derives on people who “give in” but rather as just a character based on anti capitalist standpoint.…

The years after World War II was a time of great scientific and technological advancements. With these advancements came great tension and rivalry between the United States and the former Union of Soviet Socialists Republic (USSR). The biggest rivalry between the two superpowers was the advancement in space technology. In 1952, the International Geophysical Year (IGY) was established in which scientists stated that in the time between July 1, 1957 and December 31, 1958, solar activity would be at a high point. The IGY made it so that both the US and the USSR became determined to be the first to reach space, and so the space race was born. During the space race, the USSR made many launches that were very advanced and superior to the US. The Soviet Union was technologically superior to the United States during the Space Race in terms of the Sputnik, Luna, and Vostok programs.…

The Space Race was a 20th-century competition between two Cold War rivals, the Soviet Union (USSR) and the United States (US), for supremacy in spaceflight capability. It had its origins in the missile-based nuclear arms race between the two nations that occurred following World War II, aided by captured German missile technology and personnel from the Aggregat program. The technological superiority required for such supremacy was seen as necessary for national security, and symbolic of ideological superiority. The Space Race spawned pioneering efforts to launch artificial satellites, unmanned space probes of the Moon, Venus, and Mars, and human spaceflight in low Earth orbit and to the Moon.…

As debates rise over whether active SETI should be pursued, perhaps the debate should spend some time deciding what messages should be sent into space. Afterall, a large part of determining whether humans should actively seek for contact with extraterrestrials lies in deciding if the repercussions of such actions would be positive or negative to the human race; positive or negative that would be in large part due to the messages sent. The importance of the content of messages shows its significance when one considers how organisms on earth respond to different initial signals. For instance, when one person sees another on the street, saying “hello” or “get out of my way” would certainly have a large impact on the response that follows from…
