Statement of objective
Goal:
Seek to grow in the field of accounting by gaining knowledge of the ongoing changes in the accounting environment. The master’s course in accounting shall further help me reach my goal to become a CPA.
Statement of objective:
After more than 6 year's full time work experience in the field of accounting with various reputed firms like XYZ, ABC, PQR and a little over 2 years of volunteering experience with a CPA firm in accounting, I want to return to academic study and undertake graduate studies in masters of accountancy to broaden my scope in this field.

After graduating with a first class degree in Masters of Accounting from University of XX, I felt I should gain some practical experience working in an accounting environment to gain first-hand knowledge. I have loved every minute of my work: especially the opportunity to participate in projects involving fund accounting for new product and discuss solutions with the verticals across the department in different parts of the world. I soon realized that, although I enjoy handling the complex projects involving new products, I am not going to be satisfied with carrying out routine procedures under the direction of others. I want to be part of the team that directs the course of the project. My senior colleagues have encouraged my ambition and feel that I have the potential for continuing my graduate studies.

My love for accounting started during high school. My dad who was an accountant inspired me and it was he who helped me develop further interests in it. While I would struggle with my accounting assignments, he would help me solve the same with his practical accounting knowledge. He also encouraged me to go through the accounts in the annual reports of the companies for which he was a shareholder of. That is how I went ahead in this field to do a bachelor and later masters in accounting.

At undergraduate level, my interests became more focused. Although management accounting and cost accounting

It is always so hard to give the exact number of people who have majored in accounting, but one thing that I know is that the demography is very wide and large. This is because they have different reasons for majoring in this career path. The most common reason to all people is because accounting is a marketable career and they merely want to find a job. The number of people majoring in this field is growing immensely and the most important thing is to consider the main reason of joining this profession. Some people will claim that when they were in high school, this was their best subject and they loved it and so they will need to major in it. I believe the best reason for majoring in accounting is because it has wide varieties of career path that one can major in. People should understand that this field is not all about debits and credits. It is more of a communicating language in the world of business and this is why many chief executive officers hold a degree in this field. In the day today life it is usually one of the most common undergraduate degree programs. The most important thing is to make certain that all of the people who are in this profession understand business and that is why many people who have ventured in accounting always have considerations for such posts. The most interesting part of this career choice is that most of the time the people who venture into it will always have the best job positions waiting for them because many people always have a notion that it is a difficult discipline. The employment opportunities are abounding for the graduates majoring in accounting. The government figures shows that at least 1.2 million of jobs are held by accountants every year. According to the Feldmann, 2009 and also the survey done by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA, 2000) the graduates are declining but after revisiting their research in the year 2005, it reflected an increase in number of the accountant graduates. In recent years, my native country of India has adapted to the trend of globalization and transformed from a low-tech manufacturing base into a technology-based economy. Growing up in such a dynamic and quickly developing economy has given me a strong interest in taking part in the business world of the future. With this longstanding interest in Accounting and Business, I am very eager to begin engaging in advanced business studies. Business and Finance has been a great inspiration for me right from my childhood ever since I used to be at the cash counter of my dad’s departmental store. My introduction to Chartered Accountancy Program was my first greatest inspiration. I majored in Bachelor of Commerce at University of Madras in [India], a University with a reputation for excellence in terms of its business programs. Although the rigorous academic environment presented certain challenges, I achieved a great deal and built a strong foundation of knowledge and experience. The core subjects in my bachelors were Accounting, Business, Commerce, Law, Taxation and Management Studies. I have also completed the Common Proficiency Test from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. I believe that Australia is the ideal setting for refining my expertise in Accounting and Management while also acquiring a broader, international viewpoint in Accounting. I am currently applying to the “Masters of Professional Accounting”; so that I can learn and lay a foundation to live up to my dream of becoming a full-fledged Chartered Accountant or working as a financial analyst in a reputed Accounting Firm.…
