“If you want something you would reach it”. It is an Iranian proverb that I have always believed in and placed it in my mind in all my endeavors. Now, I have decided to pursue my education in one of the best American universities, Georgia Institute of Technology. I am applying for admission to Ph.D. program of Mechanical Engineering since I want a career in the research and teaching of Thermo-Fluids and experimental, theoretical and numerical analysis of thermal-fluid systems.
My tendency toward Physics and Mathematics inspired me to look for a career as an engineer when I was at high school. Through many discussions with my uncle, a mechanical engineer, about vast applications and features of mechanical engineering I got that mechanical engineering would be the best major for me. So I selected it as my first choice in the universities entrance exam and achieved to enroll in this program at Sharif University of Technology with a high rank of 97 among approximately 300,000 competitors.
My first true introduction to mechanical engineering area came in “Machine Elements Design I,II” courses offered by Dr. Durali together with various projects and assignments. The time limitation on each project taught me to plan well, work systematically and keep my reports up-to-date. In addition to designing different mechanical elements, I did an exciting teamwork project, “complete design of a virtual metallic bridge between two buildings”, to be delivered in only one week. Living in the computer site of dormitory, dividing task among four members, trying to have remarkable contribution to the project altogether with being awarded as the second best project among 25 opponents has made it a memorable event.
6 month research assistantship under supervision of Dr. Kakaee provided me with the opportunity to become familiar with the way of doing an industrial research project. This team project was about “Theoretical and Experimental
