I am writing this statement in support of my application to study towards the Master of Health Administration degree at the University of Memphis. I came to Memphis in September of 2005 because of a work opportunity. I had no idea what I was in for. Since then I have fallen in love with the city of Memphis, the people of Memphis, and the University of Memphis. I have no desire to study elsewhere and this is why I have chosen to apply to the MHA program at The University of Memphis. I will have earned my bachelors degree in Health Services Administration from The University of Memphis by the end of the fall 2009 semester. My long term goal is to become a Hospital Administrator. I love to learn and advance academically. I would also very much like to someday attain my Ph.D. Health Administration. I am a bilingual native speaker of English and Urdu. I am confident that being fully bilingual will continue to prove useful to me professionally, especially since if I enter the military as an officer.
I have 5 years of experience in the military as a department head of dental clinics as well as 6 years of experience of being a multi-location manager for Circuit City. My work experience and education have helped me to develop excellent organizational and communication skills with patients, physicians, and the medical community. I am also acquainted with the local medical community. I performed an internship at the Church Health Center and worked as an eligibility clerk at the V.A. Hospital. I also have been selected for the Memphis Institute of Leadership Excellence Program at the University of Memphis. My mentor is David Hogan the Executive Vice President of Baptist Memorial Healthcare. I have learned much about the field of Healthcare Administration from him. I especially enjoy learning about the ways that David uses his communication skills to and abilities to impact his organization as well as the lives of his patients and employees. These experiences have motivated me to try to make a similar impact. I am the first and only member of a large family to have served in the military. I want to be the first to have earned a masters degree. I have a need to serve as a role model for other family members as well as be an example to young people in my life. This is part of the reason why I would like to continue my education on to the Ph.D. level after earning the Master’s degree, as well as perhaps someday having the opportunity to teach Healthcare Administration. As an American, I am especially concerned with healthcare issues facing the United States today, and would like to be able to contribute to providing our country with solutions. I want to thank you very much for your consideration of my application.

In the essay “God and the Strongest Battalions,” Richard Current stated that the North won because they had so much more than the South. The North had an advantage over population; near five to two. They had more wealth, manpower, manufactured goods, agriculture, transportation, finances, and the economic stability to fight and win a war. Current stated that “If wars are won by riches, there can be no question why the North eventually prevailed” (Current 15). Current then talked about the Southern advantages. “If statistics were on the side of the North, history seemed to be on the side of the South” (Current 17). The South had the internal spirit because they were fighting for their freedom. The South had the advantage on the geographical side because of the rivers and swamps and because most of the fighting was done on their home front. The last and most important reason that Current wrote about was cotton. He talked about how the South could have used the cotton as a major advantage, but because of bad management and human errors, the South lost all of their hope of winning. Instead of making the best use of the cotton, the South stopped their planting, burned some of the bales and discouraged the foreign trade associated with it. Current then brought up the point that a new light was thrown on the question of whether the Confederacy was more handicapped by human or by material shortcomings. That question was brought up again when Current wrote more about the Confederate leader’s failures when it came to the transportation, manufacturing, and finances of the South. The North had a better economy to start with, and the South would have had to do an immense amount of work to even come close to the North’s resources. Another point that Current brought up next was that the Confederacy faced problems of politics and government along with military and naval problems. Overall, the South could not compete with the amount…

Based on the information from above , the North should win the war due to their advantages in the number of railroads in the North and a greater amount of soldiers fighting in war. In the Civil War, the North had a far greater amount of soldiers fighting for them than in the South. Much has happened since I graduated from the School of Public Health in 1986. I achieved my dream of working in a hospital setting when I secured my first job as a Management Accountant at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. There I especially enjoyed developing relationships with managers from many departments as I assisted them with financial reports and budget information. Although I aspired to have enough experience one day to be eligible for an administrative role in a clinical area, my job provided a great opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the…

I wasn’t terribly sure what I wanted to do with my life, nor did I have any idea how to get where I thought I wanted to be. My relative lack of passion wasn’t seen as a deterrent in my affluent Texas town, though, as it was a place where nearly all high school students went on to college—it was the only option we really considered or that was presented to us by our families, teachers, and counselors as a post-graduation plan. So I began the requisite search by looking first at nontraditional college environments, for while I had done reasonably well at my large and impersonal public high school, nor had I flourished either. It seemed to me that if I was going to spend the next four years of my life in school, I might as well try a different tactic than the one that had allowed me to coast rather unremarkably through high school.…

For the scholar, development is a particular activity of society seen in certain periods. For the social being it is an ever-present, non-stop activity whose intensity varies with periods and circumstances. This is true of survival, growth, development and evolution. These are all the same activity at root with varying degrees of energy, intensity, organisation, result and aims. That is why we say that these four phenomena exist in each of them. Evolution can be termed as fast moving survival and survival is evolution at its slowest pace.…

Over the past four years I have spent most of my time taking classes, studying from books, reading papers, doing homework, giving presentations, attending various events and seminars about mathematics. All of these studies made me understand how passionate I am about mathematics. However, my professors and friends in mathematics PhD programs tell me that this is just the tip of the iceberg. Now then I have decided to combine all these efforts to take me further at the world of researching. Despite the arduous nature of research, I am confident though that my resoluteness gives me the ability to reach my targets. The first time I discovered my determination was whilst I was playing chess at the National level. The hardest challenge at that stage was to prepare myself in order to compete in high level tournaments, in which I later managed to win awards. The second milestone was making the decision to become a researcher in my undergraduate years. After choosing such a route for my career, the significant increase in my GPA is attests to my ambitious and dedicated nature mentioned above. On the way to becoming a mathematician, I find nothing more striking than the simplicity and elegance of geometric ideas. As I attended my first lectures in Euclid’s fifth axiom, Gauss’ “Remarkable Theorem” and Einstein’s equations, my previous perceptions changed drastically under the pressure of these simple but powerful notions. Following that impact, it became crucial for me to keep track of new advances in the field of geometry. Delving into the depths of geometry, I came to appreciate its connections with many topics which appeared unrelated at first sight. One of these connections, namely to Groups and Symmetries, became my the topic of my undergraduate thesis. The Classification of the Wallpaper Groups was the title, and analyzing symmetries of two dimensional tessellations in terms of group theoretical notions was the goal of this study. During my educational life, I put…
