The intensive search done during presenting a paper titled, “Towards a Grid Applicable Parallel Architecture Machine” during the third year of my engineering made me aware of the immense research possibilities which Computer Science had to offer.
I look at Computer Science as a continuously evolving field; it was this viewpoint which made me choose Computer Science as my stream during my undergraduate studies. During the four years of my undergraduate education, I got to learn many core concepts in Computer Science. My areas of interest are Computer Networks, Databases, Internet Programming, Data Structures. In addition; I like C language for its simple yet powerful and Java for its robust object oriented features. However, I feel that I need to focus on them in greater detail and graduate studies will provide me the right platform to do so.
My interest to explore new technologies and my intent to find out how new technology actually helps in an industry scenario helped me gain a project at SS Oral Care Private Limited, Hyderabad. The project titled, “Analysis of SAP version upgradation from 4.6 B to 5.0 ECC”. During my stint here I came to know about the use of SAP as an Enterprise Resource Planning Solution Software in the industry. I got to know about its various modules. I also got to work on the various phases in upgradation process such as hardware migration, database migration, prepare and upgrade phase. Most importantly I learnt about downtime management in the IT industry.
