Statement Of Purpose For Automobile Engineering
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Right from my childhood the sight of bikes and cars fascinated me. It was in the year 2006, I got an opportunity to visit Hyundai Motors India Limited located in Sriperumbudur, Chennai. Where observing the various methodologies indulged in manufacturing of cars captivated me. Learning about the different stages and processes involved in the designing and production of automobiles encouraged me to sketch my own models of cars and bikes. My visit to the factory was a memorable experience as it gave me a chance to see the factory’s heavy machinery and equipment’s used for manufacturing automobiles. The need for innovation in technology is the norm today. This coupled with my inquisitiveness and passion to stay abreast with the latest innovations in automobiles of the modern world, led me to pursue this stream. Boosted by a good result in VEL TECH UNIVERSITY Engineering Entrance Examination, I secured admission in Vel Tech Dr.RR & Dr.SR Technical University, one of the premier universities for Automobile Engineering in Chennai, India. My undergraduate program introduced me to the core subjects of automobile Engineering like Automotive Engines, Automotive transmission, Vehicle dynamics and Fuel Conservation & alternate fuels. In my second year I attended workshop on Vehicle Testing & Certificate Systems at Central Institute of Road transport, Pune. Here I learnt about the various tests involved in testing and certifying a commercial vehicle. In my third year, I participated in a Proficiency Improvement programme on Automotive NOISE Vibration & Harshness organized by Automotive Research Association of India, Pune. This program taught me about the various characteristics and functions involved in vehicles’ performance related to NVH. These trainings gave me insight of several mechanisms of engine and exhaust related to NVH with practical knowledge. And my participation in universities SAEINDIA B AJA 2013 team gave me a real-time experience in developing an all-terrain
