Statement Of Purpose For Occupational Therapy

Community service also dramatically impacted my decision of becoming an occupational therapist, because I have always held community service as a high priority of mine. With the passion to give back to others and help other fellow individuals out, I knew I wanted to one day have a profession that allowed me to give back to my community, even if it was in an insignificant way. By becoming an occupational therapist and entering the health field I will be provided with endless opportunities to utilize my knowledge, degrees, and skills to give back to my community through my career. In an effort to make my career goals and aspirations come true, I am currently pursuing the proper steps to help me get closer to and achieve my goal. Previously in high school, I focused on making myself better all-around to help me become accepted
Since UNCW does not offer a master’s program for Occupational Therapy, I plan on going to East Carolina University and being a student in their extremely competitive occupational therapy program, therefore I will need my GPA to be the best I can. Keeping up with my community service, I am always looking for ways and new opportunities to volunteer in Wilmington and surrounding areas. Currently, I am involved in the UNCW competitive cheerleading team, although next academic year I plan to be more involved with more organizations here at UNCW. I have already currently begun seeking out internships and job opportunities relating to my degree and career goals. By volunteering, seeking internships, and having a job will allow myself to be the best well-rounded person I can be. I feel as if not only being an excellent student, but also being an excellent individual will further assist me into getting into the occupational therapy program at
