Born and brought up in Mumbai, the capital of the state of Maharashtra, I am Ekta Patel, the 22-year-old woman of modern India brimming with its inherent ambition and passion to grow while breaking new boundaries for myself. It’s not easy to introspecting about oneself but the earliest I could recall, I see myself on stage as a vibrant, extrovert kid talking to audience through, putting my dancing shoes to fly with music. The MA Public Relations is a carefully designed course that keeps the need of the prospective employer in mind aiming at; managing effective PR strategies in a variety of contexts, the needs of developing advanced-level knowledge and capabilities in written and oral communication, Interpretation of the context in which PR takes place, using interactive media strategies to deliver messages to a segmented audience, research methods and campaign planning. The future probably belongs to people who see possibilities before they become obvious. It belongs to those very travellers who pierce through the clouds of oblivion with the force of their determination. Some say that it is the media that shapes the world around us. Others argue that the media merely reflects our society as we make it. Either way, public relations is involved in shaping the opinions that we have on the personalities that the media presents us with through reputation. To create and maintain the reputation and positive representation of an organisation or individual is challenging and ever changing and I believe that this is why public relations appeals to me with its unrelenting energy and power.
