As a child, the stars, the moon and the serenity of the sky have always fascinated me. The stories about great astronomers like Neil Armstrong, Yuri Gagarin, Kalpana Chawla etc., have enhanced my zeal towards space. Ever since then, reaching skies has always been my dream. Even at school, when I was asked about what I would become in life, I always said I would be a Scientist in the Space department, which is my eventual dream. Perhaps, a renowned scientist and former President of India, Mr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam said “you have to dream before your dreams can come true. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action”. It is with this dream and passion, I wanted to pursue MS program in Aerospace department …show more content…
It is then I found the course ‘Avionics’ and pursued my Master’s degree with a specialization in Avionics in another well reputed university, ’Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University’. As this course is a combination of electronics with aviation, I found it enthusiastic to apply my knowledge in the field of aviation and learn more about the components related to and used in aircrafts. During that course I studied subjects like ‘Digital Avionics’, ‘Flight Dynamics and Control’, ‘Navigation Systems’, ‘Aircraft Communication Systems and Standards’, ‘Aircraft System Engineering’, ‘Aircraft Surveillance Systems’, ‘Aircraft Propulsion and Utility Systems’, ‘Fault Tolerant Systems’, ‘Flight Instrumentation and Flight Management System’ etc. We have lab sessions where I got opportunity to learn ‘LabVIEW’, ‘DOORS’ and ‘Rational ROSE’ …show more content…
This interest has led me to do my academic project in the same field with the title “Design and Simulation of Longitudinal Autopilot Modes for a Conventional Aircraft”. In my project I have designed control techniques to make an aircraft fly without intervention from pilot. With the motto to get a clearer view of the research works being done in this field, I did a 7 months internship at ‘Defence Avionics Research Establishment’ and worked on simulation softwares like ‘Flight Gear’ and ‘MATLAB’. During my internship and the project work, I developed immense delight towards research. My zest for research has made me to work further to my academic project and get a deep insight of the subject with which, I have extended my project and published a paper with the same title at 2nd International Conference on Electronics and Communication Systems, 2015, which is sponsored by
