I come from a family of doctors & medical professionals. My parents are both successful doctors, I am the only child that grew away towards engineering & technology, yet stayed very close to the ethos of the science behind it. This background molded me. My parents’ valued scientific principles, fact-based analysis, designed experimentation, attention to details and ‘always successful’ outcomes. This inclination towards scientific approach & successful real-life application defines me.
Since childhood, I was exposed to logical approach and experimentation, which was a result of listening conversations of my father & mother when they came back from work. Also ‘medication options’, ‘unique patients’, ‘dosages & times’, ‘patients …show more content…
One event that had a deep impact on me in my Higher Secondary Education was, attending an event for visually challenged children, to which my parents were invited. Seeing them struggle in everyday aspect of life, made me feel sorry for them. This event inspired me to take up my mini project to help them. My junior year engineering project was a device that helped visually challenged people to detect obstacles named as, Sonic Sense. The project was based on a PIC16F452 microcontroller. Two HC04 ultrasonic sensors were interfaced with a PIC16F452. As soon as the sensors detected obstacles, it would alert the user using a buzzer and a vibration …show more content…
Hence I have decided to pursue graduate studies to gain deeper insights into these areas. To be able to work on microcontrollers further, I am revisiting and refining my MATLAB and Embedded C programming skills.
My Extra-curricular interests: Besides my academic and research interests, I am fairly active in sports. I have a national gold medal in boxing. I even have a Black Belt Dan I in Shotokan Martial Arts. I am an avid gamer and ‘Game Modder’. I was an active member of Robocon, working as Programmer in VIIT, Pune University. I also am a blogger, I blog about DIY projects, problem-solving on techbachelor.wordpress.com. I am also active in the Android community. OS installation, flashing ROMS, FASTBOOT and Android Debugging Bridge is right up my alley.
My Aim: As an Indian student in engineering, my focus is to gain insights into advancement and applications of Control systems. I enjoy doing independent research. Moreover, I have been helping my juniors with their project work and programming languages such as Embedded C and MATLAB. Guiding my juniors, I have discovered a flair for research and teaching. After the doctoral studies, I see myself pursuing a research career, either as a teaching faculty member or in an R & D department of the
