43 and Back at It
Returning to school is hard, but returning at age 43 is the hardest decision that I have ever made in my life. Growing up I always felt that I was never smart enough to advance myself in anything, yet alone school. After working many jobs and not climbing fast enough or having the required qualifications for opportunities; I have decided to return to school because I want to make a better life not only for myself, but also for my family. I do not want to have any regrets about not finishing school or “ I should have done this “ while I was younger. I want to be able to provide for my present and future family, and not being able to give them the things they need and want is a big concern of mine. …show more content…
By returning to and graduating from school, I will be able to support my family the way I could not before. That is not to say that I have not been able to provide for their needs. Growing up as a child, we were not that well off and we moved around a lot. So having a good education will open doors so that I will have a better chance of supporting my family the way I want to.
Another factor pushing me to further my studies is a general quest for knowledge that can allow me to become a better rounded person. I pursued vocational training in automotive technology which is a passion of mine; I am seeking to supplement this with an academic side. It would be so great if these two can come together in a business venture after I complete my program. So many possibilities exist now as I go along on this
